Cinnamon

Cinnamon is the newest member of A Farm for Annie's family. She is extremely sweet and — while she's a little more timid than Shammy — she's very friendly.

Cinnamon is a sixteen-year-old mini donkey jenny. She was lovingly surrendered to A Farm for Annie after rapidly losing weight due to Cushing's Disease. Her owner was unable to provide her with the specialty care she needed to thrive, and made the difficult decision to put her in our care. Cinnamon is severely underweight and currently receiving close veterinary care; she has a long healing journey ahead of her, but she's in good spirits and already loves her new best friend, Shammy!

Cinnamon's Care

Cinnamon suffers from Cushing's Disease, a progressive metabolic disorder that causes laminitis (severe hoof inflammation) and metabolic issues that affect fur, muscle, and weight. She is currently severely underweight and receiving a special diet to safely gain weight. She is also currently suffering from a fungus on her ears, requiring daily cleaning and topical treatments. Like Shammy, she receives specialty trims to avoid laminitis, a carefully-curated diet to manage her weight, and Prascend, a medication that mitigates the effects of Cushing's.
